51 51 Joining the Sixth Form How do I join the Sixth Form? When you join the Sixth Form at King James’s you will be joining a community of around 270 students. By winter in Year 11 you will be thinking seriously about deciding your post-16 options and subjects. Whether you are already at King James’s or are new to the school, we will provide you with a carefully planned, step- by-step induction programme which will ensure that you are fully briefed to make the best possible choices. Through discussions and interviews with your Form Tutor, Careers Advisor and other staff, you will have every opportunity to look at your strengths and to decide upon the most suitable option for you. Significant dates in the application process are as follows: If any aspect of your application is unworkable you will be advised. In the event of a course being unpopular, we reserve the right to withdraw the subject at any stage. Should this be the case you will be informed as soon as possible. Late applications are accepted but as time goes on the timetable becomes less flexible, therefore options will be reduced. The final date for accepting applications will be October 2023.
