FOR ANYTHING RELATING TO THE OPTIONS PROCESS ROLE NAME Year 9 Associate Assistant Head Mr Dan Berry Year Managers Gayle Flintoft Assistant Headteacher Mr S Giles FOR SPECIFIC ‘KJS SIXTH FORM’ ADVICE AND GUIDANCE ROLE NAME Director of Sixth Form Mr John O’Hara COURSE SELECTION INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW You cannot choose Sport Studies and GCSE PE You cannot choose Performing Arts and GCSE Drama You cannot choose a language you did not study in Year 9 You can choose a Design Technology subject that you did not study in Year 9 but you need to discuss this with Mr Berry (Associate Assistant Head) and Nikki Armstrong (Head of DT) If you wish to study more than one of the following GCSE subjects Art or Art, Craft and Design, Textiles and 3D Design you need to discuss this with Mr Berry (Associate Assistant Head). You can only choose one DT subject from either Design Technology or 3D Design. Food, Preparation & Nutrition and Hospitality & Catering are officially separate to DT so you can take one of those subjects in combination with any other DT subject You can choose Creative iMedia and Computer Science If you choose Triple Science this takes up one of your options If your reserve depends on what other choices you are awarded, please write this clearly on your form Think carefully about your choices - changing course is rarely possible All subjects are challenging but some challenge you in specific ways (e.g. maths content in Computer Science). 3
