OPTIONS FORM... CORE SUBJECTS • English Language • English Literature • Maths • Combined Science • Core PE (Non-qualification subject) • PSHCEE EBacc PATHWAY (The EBacc Pathway): Guides students towards taking History or Geography along with a modern foreign language. Taking these subjects, along with your core options, will give you balance and breadth in your options. Taking them will also ensure that you are studying a range of subjects at GCSE which will lead to ‘facilitating subjects’ at A Level in preparation for university. This option allows you TWO free choices (you can still pick another humanities or language from the list as part of your TWO free choices if you want to do so). FLEXIBLE PATHWAY (The Flexible Pathway): At King James’s School we recognise that not all students will want to follow an EBacc pathway andmay wish to follow particular interests or specialisms. We would still suggest that students study a breadth of subjects. This allows you to choose THREE free choices (you can still pick another humanities or language from the list as part of your THREE free choices if you want to do so). You can access the form via the link below but this must be completed by 9th FEBRUARY : Form will be available from Thursday 1st February Parents/ Carers will have the chance to ask questions at the Options Evening on WEDNESDAY 31st JANUARY CORE OPTIONS & EXTENDED OPTIONS Subjects marked * are BTECs, + are Technical/Vocational Awards graded from pass to distinction and all of the others are full course GCSEs graded 9-1.
