FOR ANYTHING RELATING TO THE OPTIONS PROCESS ROLE NAME Year 9 Learning Manager Mr Ashley Atkinson Year 9 Pastoral Officer Mr Charlie Phillips Assistant Head Director of KS3 Assistant Head Director of KS4 Mrs Lisa Holdsworth Miss Laura Baker FOR SPECIFIC ‘NEXT STEPS’ ADVICE AND GUIDANCE ROLE NAME Director of Sixth Form Mr John O’Hara Careers Mrs Karen Morgan COURSE SELECTION INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW You cannot choose BTEC Sport and GCSE PE You cannot choose BTEC Performing Arts and GCSE Drama You cannot choose a language you did not study in Year 9 You can choose a Design Technology subject that you did not study in Year 9 but you need to discuss this with Mr Atkinson (Learning Manager) and Mr Bolger (Head of DT) You can choose Art and Digital Photography, but you cannot choose GCSE Art and GCSE Art, Craft and Design If you want to choose Art GCSE and Textile GCSE you need to discuss this with Mr Atkinson (Learning Manager) You can only choose one DT subject from either Design Technology or 3D Design. Food, Preparation & Nutrition and Hospitality & Catering are officially separate to DT so you can take one of those subjects in combination with any other DT subject You can choose Creative iMedia and Computer Science If you choose Triple Science this takes up one of your options If your reserve depends on what other choices you are awarded, please write this clearly on your form Think carefully about your choices - changing course is rarely possible All subjects are challenging but some challenge you in specific ways (e.g. maths content in Computer Science) – you will have the opportunity to ask your form tutor or subject teacher questions between Friday 12th January - Friday 26th January 3
